New Delhi, Aug 12 (EFE) .- The Indian government has filed a lawsuit worth nearly $ 100 million against the Nestle Corporation for the sale of some noodles (pasta) Precooked Maggi, one of the companies of the group, containing excessive lead and were recalled.
"It has filed a class action suit on behalf of the vast number of consumers of Maggi at home against Nestlé on the grounds of unfair trade practices, the sale of defective products and the sale of noodles oat Maggi without permission" reported today Indian government in a statement.

The Swiss group said in a statement that they have not received official notification of the application.

Nestle decided to withdraw from the Indian market its popular Maggi noodles in early June after several states decided to temporarily ban the product to contain excessive lead.
Authorities in New Delhi conducted tests to 13 units of the product in which in 10 cases lead levels of between 3.05 and 4.09 parts per million were found when permitted by law is 2.5.

Nestle has defended its products since the outbreak of the case stating that contain lead levels higher than normal.

Maggi noodles came to India in 1982 and the product became over the years one of the most popular foods in the Asian giant due to its low price (between 10 and 25 rupees -15 and 40 cents the dollar) and his fast in just two minutes.
So far the small bags of Maggi noodles with individual rations could be found in any store in India and there are even specialized food stalls only in the preparation of the paste.
