India and Israel Barak 8 Missile

India and Israel plan to hold later this month joint testing of a new long-range missile, the Barak 8 in order to raise to a new level of relations between the two countries.

Although it was initially planned that the missile was launched from the Indian ship Kolkata, in the media the idea that the launch could be done from an Israeli boat appears frequently.

However, employees of the Israeli embassy in New Delhi has refused to comment on the situation.

Ohad Khorsandi, a representative of the delegation, referring to the issue in an interview with Sputnik, said that in recent years the military cooperation between the two countries has reached significant levels.

"Our countries face similar threats, which every day becomes stronger, so it is essential to tackle them jointly," Khorsandi said, adding that Tel Aviv has full confidence in the professionalism of Delhi in the military field.

To the diplomat, the fact that the two countries act together help to overcome all the challenges, besides the two States "have much to learn from each other".

Military experts believe that the evidence of Barak 8 can be categorized as a response to the growing threat exerted on Pakistan India and China, whose presence in the area is becoming more noticeable.

The ground-based missile long-range Barak 8 is a group of companies Indian Defence Research and Israel Aerospace Industries product and is expected to be installed on frigates of the Navy of India.
